A Quick and Heartfelt Thank You (Albeit 9 Months Late...)

When IMDb announced on February 1, 2017, that they'd be shutting down their message boards for good on the 20th, my heart honestly sank a little.

In fact, regrettably, I didn't even discover Moviechat here until early September (and it was apparently started up JUST before the boards died on IMDb...)

That said, I want to give my now long overdue thanks to the person/people who did the creation of this message board discussion replacement. After 7 months of not having any such way to really communicate with people the same way as before (or so I thought of course), I decided to try looking for "message boards ala IMDb" or whatever keywords I used, and at long last found Moviechat.

Thanks a zillion - AGAIN!!!

Thank you VERY much! In fact, you're the first person on this site to respond to ANY of my (now) ten comments/posts. :)

Thank you VERY much. All of you!!!

Indeed, the traffic on these still relatively new boards has been slow thus far, but hopefully more people (including the ones who, like myself, were quite saddened to see IMDb tear theirs down) will be discovering this new site and the livelihood will pick up. More people to reach out and converse with. :)

Always happy to talk with new people😉

Welcome to MC!

Remember that IMDb took 16 years to get to where it was in its movie board incarnation prior to death and that it was already a 10 year old project by that point.

MovieChat will likely take some time to get up and running in anywhere near the same way but this is a start and it only takes passionate movie fans to get this kindling to spark into a furnace.

Keep posting and sharing and it can only get better :)

Hey, some boards I've posted on (yet tragically very few others have thus far) are The Rescuers (1977), Pokémon (1997-), Zootopia (2016), Robin Hood (1973) and the forthcoming Wrinkle in Time (2018) and *gags mildly* Frozen 2 (2019) (for a sequel to one of the most overrated animated films to date, F2's board has gotten little to no attention - I'M the only one who's posted there thus far for Christ's sake...) *rolls eyes*
