Anyone want some miniature candy bars ???
We overbought - we had about 15 kids and we bought the box with 50 candy bars in it. So I am munching on kitkat/coffee crisp/aero bars.

We didn't have any trick or treaters here, so I didn't bother buying any candy. I did, though, buy myself a fresh jelly donut tonight as some way of celebrating Halloween. Not the same thing, but at the time I wasn't in the mood for candy.

I read my post you replied to and thought WTH?! I don't remember posting that ๐ณ. I bought candy this year, and NO jelly donuts! (No way to bribe anyone ๐ )
Then realised this was from last year ๐
I was reading this thread and came to Dewey's post...only then did I realize it was a year old. Thought...what the hell...I'll read he rest. Jelly donuts always get my attention...and my money...and my svelt figure๐
shareNo,thank you....i don't like candyies.

I brought all the extras into the office and left them in the coffee room - they were all gone by 3 pm.

I did the same thing. The candy was gone by the end of the day.
We only had 20 kids. We over bought! We ended up with two large bowls left! I am DAMNED if I'll have that much sweet temptation in my pantry! we only kept a third of what we had left. My husband loves his Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
when it comes to candy - out of sight out of mind
shareExactly! Unfortunately, for me, it isn't a case of just out of site. I need to know that there isn't any of that in my house. If I am in bed at night and I know it's there, I will eventually get up and grab a few of those goodies!

smaller familes - 25 years ago we used to get 40-50 kids - last nite about 15.
shareSomehow, I do believe it's the way the world is today. Parents are cautious now. In today's world, rightfully so!
I'm in my 60's. My folks and the town didn't even put a time limit on our trick or treating activities. We got out there early and stayed out until we had that pillow case FULL! That took several hours. My folks only had a problem if Halloween was on a week day and we couldn't get out of bed for school the next day. Other than that, they did not give us a second thought.
I had about 20...it does seem less than when i was running around knocking on doors
shareYoure doing it right
Keep going!!!
