I don't read many books, but one book I would love to see on the screen? Prey, couldn't put it down. Another title , will post when I find it.
Blood Music, by Greg Bear.
Both difficult tasks to put to screen. The subject matter, money, etc..

I really like Crichton as well. One of his last works was a pirate novel. I have not read it yet, but it may be adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg.
