Every Time I Buy Fast Food I Feel Like It Is A Wound in My Bank Account

After graduating college years ago, I was so high and mighty about getting fast food. "Nah, it's not that expensive. I will just spend like $5 a day and at most like $25 a week. What could go wrong? Psh..."

Then a hardship struck and now I could not be any more frugal than I am. Anytime I have to eat out, it is almost like I cannot. Any money spent without making a decision or without a coupon, suddenly feels like I am figuratively stabbing myself.

I guess hardships are definitely life lessons because I totally rid myself from eating out. I may never go back, even though I have coupons. I wish I could eat what fast food youtubers are eating; but unless I actually work at a fast food place, there probably will not be a budget for it. :/

My go to stores are $1 stores and spending at most $10 with a $1 off at a grocery store.

reply

You can enjoy it one day a week as opposed to all week long. That way it's more of a treat AND you save money.

reply

YES!!

But then do I buy from grocery stores to feed me for the rest of the week?

Like say, I spend $10 with a $1 off coupon, for foods I need to cook; do I then get a reward of $5 on a fast food item with no discount?

reply

Like you said earlier in the post... The Dollar Store!!

reply

You know, it was funny. I had first gone to that store to see what was in it. Mind you, this was like 3 years after I lived in the city I am in and I was like "What does this store not have?" Then I realized PRODUCE! Even as I have read many articles stating to not buy their dairy or meats; they have quite a good selection of off brand items. They also have healthy options too: gluten free, no MSG, free trade

Crazy, however, I will never knock a dollar store again. It has helped me and will continue to help me.

I also overheard two employees talking and saying that the bread is not bad neither. I may have to try it.

My Dollar Store (The Dollar Tree) has AWESOME food. Name brands too. Their frozen food section can't be beat!!

reply

I like their off brand pizza rolls. Had I known I could buy this instead of Totinos, I would have been here four years ago. They do not even have trans fat in them! I remember when Totinos had to remove trans fat from theirs.

reply

Totinos SUCK!! Very bland compared to Michalena's (sp?)

reply

That's the name!

reply

They are sumptuous!!!! 😂😂😂😂

reply

What's your favorite kind?

reply

They only have one kind at my store. The 4 meat kind. Yum!!!!!!!!

reply

I actually tried all of them and I agree, the four meat has an explosion of flavor. Just this last week, I bought the combination, thinking that was the one. Nope. So I think it really is the four meat.

"I also overheard two employees talking and saying that the bread is not bad neither. I may have to try it."

And that is why I believe you are messing with people here. When I suggested that it would save you money to buy bread and assorted lunch meat you said you couldn't buy bread because of "leavening"
Now, of all places, you are going to try bread from the $Tree?

reply

*sigh*

They have leavening free bread? :D

reply

Eat at home, buy cheap food and don't complain. You are an idiot. IDIOT! You totally suck!

reply

are you a high school drop out?

reply

The bad thing about this website is that anything you write never truly gets removed. So all these posts you are posting, not looking really good right now.

Have fun trolling. :)

Watch out for the mods.

reply

okay dokey, mods are welcome. None said hi to me so far. So I guess you are imagining things. Jerk.

reply

Or shall I say MONGO?

reply

And they IP ban. That means, once you are banned and they track your IP, you may not be on here any longer. I am actually trying to help you right now.

reply

that might be more of a problem for you than for me, actually, since you are the total MONGO here.
Sorry to break it to ya. Total Moron.

reply

So it does not bother you that you could possibly be banned? Wow! Do you have a way around it because I certainly do not. That is why I keep mostly civil on these threads and at least contribute movie/tv knowledge. Ever since you arrived, you have insulted Mint Berry, myself, trolling two welcome posts (of which no one cares), and just being a nuisance.

I have done my time on here. I am not worried. :)

reply

No. You are just a MONGO IDIOT.

reply

It does not bother you? How many accounts do you have on here? You can tell me. Come on.

I only have this one. So if it gets banned, I'm gone.

reply

Your account is called MONGO

reply

Mongo is short for Mongole/Mongölchen which is a very, very rude word to refer to someone who suffers from Down's Syndrome.

It's German. So you're German?

I see.

reply

Hahaha, it's so easy to answer to you. You are the bully but don't notice. Idiot. Mongo. Easy.

Eating take-out/fast food as your primary way to eat is too expensive.

While I actually don't agree with those who say it's cheapest to cook from raw materials, as that can actually add up to a lot of ingredients you have to buy in many cases, it's certainly cheaper to shop at the supermarket for your food rather than keep going to fast food places.

The middle-ground, expense wise, is to shop at the supermarket for some "from scratch" components and some packaged "helping hand" components, to make meals to eat at home.

Aim for a regular time to shop, like once a week. Buy what you anticipate eating for a week, so plan for seven meals. This way you keep more tabs on what you're actually spending, than if you just keep going daily to buy this or that, you don't realize how much all that random spending adds up.

I buy a mix of some stuff to make from scratch and some convenience foods, but even the convenience foods in supermarkets are cheaper as meals than getting take-out from places like McDonalds.

reply

That is true.

reply

Fast food is so unhealthy. I prefer to cook my own healthy meals.

reply

Convenience....omg...

People are missing the point of this thread.

reply

I eat food for taste. I'm not bothered about if it's healthy or not. Some healthy food I like, some junk I don't and vice versa.
