What happened to 9?

All their posts are either deleted or edited to be "-". Did they give up on the site and just decide to leave, destroying all their previous posts? Did anyone "talk" with them recently?
I had some nice online conversations with them... but now it just looks like I was talking to myself.

I'll definitely miss them.

But I'm not sure about the gender symbol thing. Some people might get offended, or keep changing it to mess with people or something.

9 has deleted all of his/her posts except for this one in which April asked him/her if s/he is leaving the board:

"Hey April, no no, I'm here but can't come on as much for a while. We don't have a lot of settings for our accounts yet so this was the best I could do. Be back with the MC fam later. 😎"

I really liked 9 too, but I think that poster needs some space or time right now. It may be better for us to not dig into this too much.

reply

Ah, okay. It just doesn't make sense as to why they would delete pretty much everything... But I'm not judging. If they need a break, that's perfectly fine. One summer, I just had to distance myself from online interactions because life was getting overwhelming. I completely understand if something like that happened. I just hope they decide to come back someday.

reply

Same here!

reply

Yeah I don't get it either. For some reason they don't want their posts seen right now. Maybe when they decide to come back, they'll re-edit them back again. Maybe they just don't want to reply to people right now.

reply

Me three, not getting it. I just hope he or she is okay and will come back. I enjoyed their posts!

reply

Me too. Any non-troll is an enjoyable fellow poster in my book.

reply

Sorry to hear about this. They were really nice to talk to. Everybody has their own lives, though, so I agree. It's best to just let things play out without any further interference.

reply

Hmmm... I remember that couple of days ago people were able to completely remove the threads they started, like they never existed, with all the posts in them. 9 and me alerted Jim to fix this, and he did. Now that I see that 9 completely removed all his entries, I can only think of one thing: if Jim hadn't fixed this, the main thread in this year's Oscars wouldn't exist anymore, cause 9 started it. That would've been a loss, all that effort for nothing.

reply

It seems like the 89th Academy Awards thread is still intact. It's just missing 9's title (we see a "-")

But kudos to 9 for taking the initiative and making that thread in the first place, to help drive discussion. A lot of people (including me) weren't even aware we had a forum for the show itself. I was surprised to see it pop up in Trending one day.

I liked 9, I hope they are well.

reply

Me too.

reply

Same here. Seemed like a nice person, I hope everything is ok and they eventually come back.

reply

9 was the first one to reply to one of my messages here.

I almost filed a bug report. Because it said '9 replied to your comment in the thread "Farewell my friends!" in Office Space (1999)'.

I was flabberguested for such a new forum.. So many replies.. But... I only saw one reply :) :)

It later dawned on me ;).

* checking if 7 is already taken :)

reply

I heard that 7 ate 9.

{and supposedly that's why 6 is afraid of 7!}

RIP

Awww, I loved the interaction 9 provided. I'll miss him, or her. I couldn't really tell whether he or she since most of his or her comments were generic. I hope 9 will join us sooner rather than later though. 9 did leave his or her account open instead of deleting the account (or can we do that, I haven't checked).

Here's to you 9, we'll miss you in the interim..👌👋👊😢

reply

That is a bummer, 9 was a nice person and had good comments. But if they need some time away, I can understand that. I hope they can come back sometime.
