It's no surprise that some gay film like Moonlight was the "real" winner. The barometer of judging a film for best picture is by how much gayness or oppression is mixed in.

Not always. I thought Brokeback Mountain was clearly a better film than Crash, but Crash took home the Oscar.

I do think Moonlight was given a boost by the OscarsSoWhite campaign.
