Recovering Passwords
I signed up within ten minutes of realizing, February 19, 7:20 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, that I had witnessed the end of IMDB. I registered under the *EMAIL ADDRESS* I had used on IMDB because I wanted to remove some or all of the posts I had made under the user name associated with the email address.
Since the email address had never been public on IMDB, I was mortified to find it as my new MovieChat user name, and I emailed Jim asking for help getting the account removed. I have not heard back from him yet (and understand how busy he must be). As I did not hear from him about "scrubbing" my new MovieChat account of the domain name, I re-registered with the same IMDB user-name associated with that email address.
The following day, because I was not automatically signed in (as I was in the habit of being for nearly fifteen years on IMDB), I tried to Login. I got an error message for the password for BOTH ACCOUNTS--the one that identified my email address, and the old IMDB user name. I have not been able to login to either of these February 19th "panic accounts" since. I'm certain I recall the passwords for both and believe I spelled both passwords identically.
If anyone knows how to recover passwords on MovieChat, I'd appreciate hearing. I can't believe a whole week has passed since IMDB is gone. I watched a video on the subject of heavy-hitting (traffic-wise) websites closing down their message boards, because of statistics and analytics that show a reader's tendency to put credence in board or forum comments more than in publicity or news. I'd post the link, but it's to a controversial vlogger, and I do not get into controversy or politics on film discussion groups.
Thank you for any help anyone can give. I guess I can resubmit my original email to Jim on February 20, but I don't want to deluge his Inbox.
