Hmmmm. The favorites that come to mind are:

The Practice
Downton Abbey
Happy Valley
Nip/Tuck
(what else did I get really addicted to?)
maybe....Damages was great. And, well....or Mad Men WAS pretty terrific, too. Perfectly cast!

Are you also meaning teen dramas or just real dramas?

I'm not so much for the medical dramas, but I did like Fringe (more of a sci-fi?) except for the last season. I didn't finish watching Damages or Downton Abbey, probably should go back and watch more of those.

OH. the x-files. good creepy drama.

The British series BLACK MIRROR is very, very interesting, too. It's almost a little bit groundbreaking in how mercilessly dark it is.

I'm just interested in learning about what folks like. Teen drama can be just as valid as adult drama, and sci-fi or fantasy as legit as real world shows, and so forth. Whatever you feel has good quality and production, and gets under your skin in some way, it's all fine by me.
