What's the most scary movie of all time?

For me it has to be the ORIGINAL Blair Witch Project. Saw that when I was just a kid and couldn't sleep for weeks after. Also, to this day, I've never been camping solely because of that movie.

Agree with the poster that said The Exorcist which ties with The Omen. Anything about Satan freaks me out. So Rosemary's baby would have to be added to the list.

I think "Carnival of Souls" (1962) holds the record for most eerie film ever made. "Night of the Hunter" (1955) is the film that terrified me most.

Not my Favorite horror film, but probably the one that horrified/disturbed me the MOST is "Salo." Not exactly a "traditional horror movie," and not one I can watch very often in my life. (If you've seen it, you Def Know what I mean..)

As far as more "traditional horror"..hm off the top of my head: Wes Craven's first film "The Last House On The Left" would be up there toward the top of my list. And please Ignore the modern remake, which in my Opinion I loathed, but even if I liked it; it's a Totally Different movie/plot So different/ect; to the point they literally should have just Titled it something else. But Craven's 1st film/that Original 1971 (uncut version) is just horrific/grim/ect.

Another I'd put up there is the more "abstract" Japansese horror film, Takashi Miike's "Audition." Not traditional horror either, not like other Asian horror..realy Nothing like that nightmare of a film. But the movie Does require Patience, as the horrific parts take a bit into the film to happen (without spoiling..), but it's Worth it and a brilliant movie in my opinion!!

And as all my picks are Not for Most, and as I said not exactly "traditional horror." So more in that direction as far as more "classic," but still Very Horrific films, I have to fully agree with a couple that others posted: "The Shining" (Kubrick's version..um, of course.), and "Rosemary's Baby."

What do people think about Train to Busan?

Perhaps one of the most emotionally-riveting films of the past few years - mixes horror with drama.

yeah exorcist. even typing it out freaks me out. I literally can not handle watching any of it. I dont do horror movies in general but this one, no. I can not even force myself to look at the screen. I cant even look up the actress cuz i know it'll pop up. I gotta say though the people who made the film were brilliant. everything was so creepy and scary. like the only part i can even watch up to is when she goes to her moms bed cuz her bed was shaking. i nope the fuck out of that and shut it off.

The 1976 version of the Omen

Exorcist and Suspiria for me (Dario Argento)

There's lots of "Boo!" movies that have things jumping out of a corner or closet. They scare me, but they also feel cheap. I like the scary movies that more cleverly use sound, imagery and set design to give me the creeps.
