New Retro TV Channels?

I read somewhere not long ago that there were new channels being made that will have old school tv shows from the 50's-80's and they would function more or less like the original versions of Nick at Nite and TV Land. Anyone else hear of this?

There's a channnel called MeTV which airs via my local NBC affiliate, plus something called ThisTv which, in addition to airing reruns of TV crime dramas, has aired Green Acres and Inspector Gadget. ThisTv is somehow on the same channel as the MyNetwork station.

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh!t in order to be comfortable?

reply

There's also a network called Antenna TV, which carries classic TV programming from the 1950s-1980s. There is also some classic content on Cozi TV.

No, I cannot explain why a non-American like myself knows about these networks.

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?

reply

No, what I mean is there are supposed to be some new channels other than syndicated METV/AntennaTV-type local stations that are supposed to have retro lineups.

The only other channel that comes close and is carried as a regular satellite/cable channel is the HUB.

Have you ever been hit with Dots Mel? Milkduds? Those things hurt.

reply

METV and Antenna are not syndication services, they are full-fledged television networks, though admittedly they tend to operate on digital sub-channels instead of being the main affiliation of a station.

reply

I haven't heard of it before.

reply

They already exist.

ME-TV and A-TV.

reply

There are plenty of them on Roku.
