Remember those days when TV was great.

I was born in 1982 so I'm glad I had a chance to experience TV during the middle 80s and the 90s. when TV was great. I know 70s had some great sitcoms and shows too. Anyways, I remember in the 90s watching TV I had to keep flipping back and forth between channels during commercials because there was something I wanted to see on the other network. Or back in the day when there was VCRs I would record one channel and turn the TV to the other channel...lol. I know right so much work that is how great TV was.

Oh you got that right!

Those were far better days
than all of that lamer stuff
they try to stuff into our airwaves these days

You had VCRs that actually worked
and you could purchase tapes
and they had VCR repairmen
who knew their stuff

Today it's all that hack garbage
where they "borrow" bad ideas
and then make them much worse

That's why it's best to listen to discerning tastes
like yours
and church people who say there is nothing good on
because you're all correct

Hey! even the weather forecasters get it wrong
most of the time
especially when you really need the rain, snow and ice
out there!

♪ Not even Mad Scientists
get it right every time

They still sell VCRs and also DVD recorders. As for finding more than one good show on at the same time, it might happen less nowadays when it comes to the major 3 or 4 networks, but it still happens on television all the time. Now if you're searching blind, it might be difficult to find things that you like. But here's a website that I use sometimes, and it throws up all kinds of good television programming. What you do is register with an email address and put down what cable or satellite system you use. You also mark your favorite shows, movies, actors, etc. The site will let you know when anything that you marked will air. Here's the URL: http://www.locatetv.com/

Yeah that was back in the days when reality shows didn't exist. Just actors in scripted shows with a plot or story.

I was born in 1944 and can remember receiving only one channel.
Didn't have to worry about recording anything.

Today I have nearly a thousand potential channels of TV programming delivered to my home, a dozen simultaneous DVR channels that I can view and even rewind, slo-mo etc. as I record, and it's all in high definition! Do I have any nostalgia for the clunky old VCR? NO!!!!!!!

Welcome to middle age though. Nostalgia is a common symptom of aging.
