"Would we like a general entertainment channel at the right price? Absolutely," says Les Moonves.

I heard that TV Guide network is going to be put up for sale. It's a start.

This match up was kind of obvious at the time, but I was unaware that Jon Feltheimer and Les Moonves have been such close personal friends for years. TVGN isn't exactly USA Network though. I expect this network to be radically different soon. TVGN has a good position on most cable lineups. I figure the name will be changed by the end of the year as well, unless certain cable contract prevent that from happening. CBS bought bought it for the position and households not for the content or name. I am not sure that it even has a HD feed yet.

Who cares ? I'm sure it will be full of shows that are meant for old people. Cbs hasn't had a good show on in years. Its full of the same tired procedurals. Every single one has the same concept. A cable network will just be more of the same.

Big Brother after Dark is being taken off of Showtime 2 and put on TVGN, and CBS's soap Young and the Restless is being moved from SoapNet to TVGN.

Based on this description, if somebody told me that CBS owned the TNT and USA networks, I would believe them 100%!

Yeah 2 channels that suck and have lame ass tv shows.

It does not appear this channel is going to be the envy of cable, let alone broadcast. They are clearly underestimating and underwhelming cable viewers.

Why exactly did they want a cable network, if they are not even going to compete with the bottom of the barrel basic channels like The Weather Channel, Comedy Central, Bravo, A&E or Spike?

I agree with that Geddy.
