AMERICAN HEROES CHANNEL

Well, I guess it really was asking too much, a Cable Channel devoted to those of us who have an interest in History, and like to watch documentaries... a Cable Channel without bullspit, garbage programming.

AHC almost made it, but then they had to air this gem:

BBQ's ULTIMATE CHAMPIONSHIP: The third annual BBQ face-off brings the best pitmasters in the country to New York City to compete for $50,000 and the title of champion. (2015),(Food).

What the heck does this have to do with anything ?????? Shame on you AHC... but it had to happen... you are owned by DISUCKORY, and garbage bullspit is all they know.

These Cable Channels are going to garbage themselves out of business... all the channels are going to air the same, cookie cutter "Reality" garbage... and more and more viewers are going to go back to free broadcast and digital channels... such a shame... Cable TV held such great promise.. a channel for almost every interest and variety... 

If you deflect the topic of the thread from the show to me, our discussion is over 

The channel failed long before then. It's a political, pro-war operation. During its best years the programming was of sub-par quality and rife with factual...let's say 'inaccuracy' to be charitable. I'm not surprised that they're down to airing "reality" programming. War should never be fashionable.

reply

Yeah, how dare they! War has nothing to do with History.

People believe what they want to believe. One term for this is Faith. Another is Delusion.

Wrong channel, pal. This thread is about AHC, not the History channel.

Actually, it seems very fitting to the name. Is there anything truly more heroic these days than conquering a bbq contest? You must know that the competition is going to be fierce.

Getting viewers for something like that will prove quite difficult. What is the payoff for the viewer? The whole point of going to a cooking contest is to try some of the food. The televise concept was lost in translation. Do they really expect anyone to sit through something like this? I am not going to sit around watching someone cook food that I cannot possibly eat.
