Is there a chance the DCEU will be scrapped if 2017 is another bad year?

They would halt all future movies except Ben Affleck's Batman film? Going back to the well so to speak..

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

No, and I wouldn't want them too. I thought BvS: Ultimate Edition was a masterpiece and Suicide Squad was the 2nd best comic book movie of all time next to Spider-Man 2 (And by FAR the most accurate), both WAY better than any MCU or Nolan film, but even putting aside my subjective love for the films, that's not gonna happen. The DCEU has cracked $2 billion in just 3 movies. That is INSANE. When you get that kind of cash and get the support that these films have (And they certainly have support, I'm hardly the first guy on the internet who will come to BvS or Suicide Squad's defense), critics mean nothing.

Hell, critics never meant anything anyway. How else can you explain Ouija, one of the most critically reviled (And rightly so) horror movies of the past 20 years actually getting a theatrical sequel?

reply

I would doubt it. Plus, all that means is they would reboot it again and that is worth banging my head on a wall.

reply

If the WB is smart (doubtful) then yes. They just do not work, neither artistically or financially.
