DVD storage device

I was on Amazon a while back and I came across a device that you could store your movies on or upload them some how. You could then use it as a player by selecting a title. it had an interactive menu and you could hook it up to a tv or projector. I cannot find it now. I forgot the brand name and have been cross referencing description keys. Does anyone know what I'm describing?

There are lots of media player devices which can be used to play ripped DVD files either over a network (with the files stored on one's computer), or through a USB connection (using an external USB drive). Some media players have an internal hard drive for storage (like the WDTV Live Hub) or have room for an internal drive (like the Popcorn Hour devices). Some players can play DVD ISOs, allowing you to navigate your movies like the actual DVDs, but most play just video files (necessitating encoding one's DVDs into another format).

It sounds like a home theater PC for people who don't want to build and configure it themselves, and don't care about the price. It may not bee legal in the USA because ripping DVDs and Blu-rays requires circumventing copy protection, which would make you a terrorist or communist or something. To be safe, have your PA ask your installer to look into it, so you won't be directly implicated in seeking to violate the DMCA.
