GRACE AND FAVOUR / ARE YOU BEING SERVED? - AGAIN!

Yes, everyone was a little older, but I thoroughly enjoyed this follow-up to the original series - I saw it when my local PBS station showed it, but recently had an urge to watch it again, so I ordered the DVD set. It arrived yesterday, and when I popped in the first disc and started with Episode One, it was like a reunion with old friends. And there were new 'old friends' as well - Fleur Bennett, Billy Burden, and the divine Joanne Heywood. It's a little bittersweet, because John Inman, Mollie Sugden, Wendy Richard and Billy Burden are gone now, but it's nevertheless great fun to watch the antics of these wonderful talents.

And I am UNANIMOUS in that!

I also saw it years ago, when the local PBS station had it. I also thought it was well done.

I recall watching Grace & Favour when it was first on the tv many, many years ago in the UK. Sadly it has never been released on R2 dvd and is only available on US R1. I keep hoping it will get an R2 release. However, I fear that the 'Are You Being Served' style of comedy is very much out of favour in the UK at the moment and it is something that a lot of people would rather leave back in the late 70s/early 80s. I hope I am wrong.

Also saw it years ago and loved it. In some ways, better than the original. Would love to see it again!
