Well from my limited understanding it is public domain so therefore anyone can do it (If anyone reading this is a professional playwright it's not a bad idea to look into this) Though would it be a comedy or should it stick to it's horror roots?

Lolita has been adapted to the stage as both a musical (Lolita, My Love by Alan Jay Lerner and composer John Barry) and a play (by Edward Albee). Both were failures.
