I ended up botching this painting a tiny bit

but at least I have photo evidence of its perfect psychedelic state. I think I can save it, I'm just so angry with myself I don't even want to face it yet.

That needs a lot more work.

Who are you to say? You may be right, but not leaving it alone screwed it up, a bit. I salvaged it, to a point, but if I'd left well enough alone when it was simple like this I'd be much happier now.

It's well outside my usual zone, typically I'm abstract, more like http://postimg.org/image/a1cokkfdb/. That thing the other night didn't know where it was going, I was pretty surprised it did what it did. I don't know how to paint anyway, it's just a fun cheap hobby.

I am an artist. (doing a fine art degree)
I think the one you've shown on here is better, but that would look better with multi-layering and resin.
You should always have an idea where something is going.

reply

Both those were in fact made with resin... in my bong. ?What the heck is layering? Whatever it is I'll try it. What's your art of choice? paintingsculpturephotographydance? I wish I went to fine art school, it must be like Satyricon, just orgy city.

reply

You use resin to layer, look at Ofili. Resining with layers.
I mainly do figurative work. Mixed media with resin. It costs a fortune to resin large pieces though.

This lady does multilayers and her work is really beautiful.

reply

That's great, but what about your work? Where are you anyway? West coast of Canada like me? We can get together and paint pigeons in the park.

reply

Holy swearword, you mean resin layering like http://twistedsifter.com/2013/12/3d-artworks-made-from-layers-of-painted-resin/? I hope Keng Lye is as rich as he wants to be.
