Has politics become a religion?

I find some people in the US have become too fervent in their political leaders. Do you think it's become another type of cult?

reply

I don't know if the U.S. has seen too much change in this recently, leaders like Trump just make this a bit more obvious.

voters have always been different on average from the rest of the industrial democracies. Several early 2000s studies suggested that levels of single-issue voting and "single personality trait voting" were the highest among Western nations. And it seems like that is still the case.

-Not accepting election loss and even trying to reverse it would be an instant career killer in most other places. Being president/prime minister again would be impossible as also your former voters will have nothing to do with you in most other nations. I am only talking about the reversing part, not "just" suggesting it.

I'm sensing some gayness from the OP.

Is that an issue for you? Are you asking me out on a date?

What has it got to do with my question?

reply

So you admit to it?

reply

No, but do you admit it?

reply

You tap dancing little shit weasel. You still have no spine.

reply

Have we had any previous conversations? Otherwise, why do I "still" have no spine?

Am I getting to you? Why are you so concerned about my sexual orientation?

reply

Why dont you delete your posts now shit weasel.

reply

What on earth are you referring to?

Never mind, I don't want to hear from any MAGA trolls who can't come up with an intelligent remark.

reply

You regularly delete your posts. You think other people cant see you doing it?

reply

I deleted a couple of posts, but not not regularly.

Why does that bother you?

reply

where did I say it bothered me?

reply

It has for some people. Ever since the mid-2010s, there are people out there who have inserted politics into everything! You can't get away from it! Even liking or hating a movie seems to be a political statement these days, and it's ridiculous. Liking or hating a product because of your values becomes a political statement. Not thinking the same way as the Borg on social media becomes a political statement. Sooner or later, the way you piss and shit in the john's gonna become a political statement.

I honestly hate it, and miss the days when people didn't care who you voted for or what your political stance was. It's one of many reasons I despise social media now, because it and the media in general are what's pushing this garbage.
