They rigged the system to get a permanent majority. Plus, they don't have an electoral college on the state level to ensure fairness of voting between the different counties, so it's always the deep blue cities and the millions of illegal aliens sucking off the govt. teat that keeps California blue. Plus, many of the smarter people (including Republicans) were forced to move away to preserve their sanity and not go broke and homeless.
