That's an interesting question. Normally, I'd say yes, but after Trump's win, there's been a palpable cultural shift. It's like all the normies collectively realized, all at once, that this woke nonsense is over. We're done with it. So, given the dramatic shift over just the last few months, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to spotlight the most normal, White, heterosexual couple imaginable tonight.

If it's covering the ball drop in New York I'd say yes.

Isn't it the job of TV news to show what's going on in the country?
Roughly 7-10% (depending how religious the region is) of all people in the western world identify as gay or bi, meaning a TV channel that shows on New Years Eve more than 10 couples kissing has by plain statistics to show one gay couple in between.
You may like it or dislike it, makes no difference, a TV channel not showing it would be a TV channel suppressing part of what's going on in the country.

Welp, Our Communist oppressors did it again. At midnight, most channels first showed a black man and woman kiss, then an old, probably Jewish man and woman kiss, then 2 guys kissing. However, on my local station, the CBS Nashville Bash went back to showing a country band instead of the 2 gays kissing.

Great news! No they did not, at least not on ABC (ironic as that sounds). Instead, they showed at least one straight couple and the girl was smiling and holding a sign that said, "She said yes!" meaning that the guy had proposed to her that night, (I'd say Times Square on New Year's would qualify as unique and romantic for that sort of thing).

Otherwise, all I saw was a clear night sky, Times Square packed with people, the ball coming down, 500 tons of red confetti raining down, fireworks, the host was some handsome himbo hanging out with three bimbos in silver (I guess they thought there weren't enough disco balls in the area) and a ton of people were wearing white Planet Fitness hats with 2025 in purple on them (apparently Planet Fitness has been sponsoring the event for years).

Oh yeah, the people who own the ball said it's being retired and next year they're going to have a new one to celebrate the New Year with.
