FACT: No one here can legally justify cops murdering a mother and her infant daughter in cold blood just for kicks.

Prove me wrong by showing me a Missouri law that justifies cops murdering a mother and her infant daughter in cold blood just for kicks. https://kansascitydefender.com/justice/independence-police-kill-mother-infant/

They sure can justify CHP murdering Ashli Babbitt.

The mom swatted her daughter in-law and grandchild - she is to blame too. Never ever call the police for domestic issues.

Cops rob drug dealers in their spare time, and extort the middle class to fund their industry. These are not people you want in your house.

There has to be 100+ videos of family members calling police over a manic or psychosis episode and getting their loved one gets killed.

The cops claim the mother was holding a knife. The father who saw the cops murder the baby and mother claim the mother was not holding a knife. Who you going to believe the lying cops or the truth telling father?

It's premature to make a judgment without the body cameras. It's certainly a tragic situation but it could have been avoided if the mother cooperated with the cops. Instead of coming down to talk to the cops, she locked herself in her upstairs room with her baby and the father.

The mother did hit the grandmother and the grandmother did call the cops. The cop was allowed to use deadly force against the mother since she was a physical threat to the grandmother. The cop had a duty to interview the mother and determine if charges should be filed. The cop would be blamed if he left and the mother ended up killing the grandmother. It would be important to determine why he shot the baby since that caused the mother to attack the cop before getting shot.

I don't support murder charges for the cop but I think he probably should be fired if he violated procedures. It's important to maintain qualified immunity for the police since recruitment of quality cops will plummet without qualified immunity. Nobody will want to be a cop if they keep arresting cops for doing their jobs.

This whole incident could have been avoided if she just came downstairs and talked to the cops. Everyone should watch the Chris Rock sketch on How To Avoid Getting Your Ass Kicked By The Cops.

If it is proven the mother was not armed would you still not support murder charges for the cop?

reply

No. The mother might have made threatening gestures towards the cop AND she already attacked the grandmother. The mother is a threat to society so it is her responsibility to convince the cop that she is no longer a threat. It's important to remember that one punch can kill so an unarmed person is still a threat. She could have rushed the cop and tried to push him down the stairs. People can break their neck if they fall down the stairs.

If a cop approaches, a person should have their hands up or visible and avoid making sudden moves. They also agree to be cuffed if the cop wants to place cuffs on their wrists. Resisting arrest will not end well.

What could the deaf man with cerebral palsy have done to not get his ass kicked by the Phoenix cops? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VzGz66t3gPM

reply

The deaf man should have put his hands up or out so the cops could have cuffed him. There is no point for a person to resist arrest since it never ends well. I will say that the cop possibly came out a little aggressive. The cop should have approached calmly from a distance instead of immediately trying to arrest him BUT the deaf man should not have resisted arrest. Put your hands up or you are getting your ass kicked.

reply

There should be a law passed where a person can not be arrested for resisting arrest if there is not probable cause to arrest them to begin with and there was no probable cause to arrest or even detain him to begin with.

I think we need more information to give an actual opinion. If you form your opinion without knowing what actually happened, you are just showing your own bias.

However the mother holding their child is just to play on people’s emotions. She can still be a threat holding a baby, the police can justify shooting her. I’m ot saying that is what happened here, I don’t know yet, Im just responding your blanket statement.

Was the baby armed?
