During the entirety of the Operation, border recruitment of illegal workers by American growers continued, due largely to the low cost of illegal labor, and the desire of growers to avoid the bureaucratic obstacles of the Bracero program. The continuation of illegal immigration, despite the efforts of Operation Wetback, along with public outcry over many US citizens removed, was largely responsible for the failure of the program. Because of these factors, operation Wetback lost funding.

Hopefully, we’ve learned from past mistakes and can ensure that Operation Wetback 2.0 actually succeeds this time around. Instead of deporting just 1.1 million, we need to push for 10 million. We’ll seal the border, deploying an army of surveillance drones equipped with AI to patrol and make certain no one gets through.

Will he do it? Probably not. He’s a bullshit artist. But is it logistically possible? Absolutely. We’ve done it before, and we can do it again.
But asking whether Trump will do anything is the wrong question. Trump doesn’t know anything about anything. The real question is whether he’ll have the right people around him who actually want to get it done. A few people come to mind (Stephen Miller) who have the know-how and the willpower, and if they’re given the authority, they can make it happen.

He has no reason to bullshit about that, his attempt and efforts during his first term proves that.

Almost everyone around him resisted him, blocked him and countermanded him. He was surrounded by vipers.

But as you stated, he needs a few good people that can help make it happen without the sabotaging and red tape.

Trump is not a "one man army" or a magical wizard.

We obviously can’t deport every illegal immigrant, but with serious effort, we could get rid of a lot of them. Take Operation Wetback in the 1950s, for example, which resulted in the deportation of 1.1 million Mexicans. At the time, estimates suggested that there were 3 to 5 million illegals in the U.S., meaning that operation removed about 20-30% of them. While it wasn’t a complete solution, it demonstrates that large-scale deportations are possible with the right commitment and resources. Now think what we can do with modern surveillance technology, facial recognition, and AI.

The solution is to increase ICE agents. First place to start are the yahoos who are hiring the illegals. Send the illegals back to their countries via plane, train, bus, etc. then throw the employers’s arses in jail or mandate a hefty fine.

We know it’s logistically impossible to round up every illegal, but we can at least go back to the Obama years. Second thing to do is to cut off all the freebies we taxpayers are paying them. You liberal naysayers will not admit they are receiving more benefits than our U.S. citizens are receiving.

Trump’s feet will be held to the fire if he doesn’t follow through on this promise. It’s the main reason I voted for him.

He did nothing in his first four years and came back to the trough.
