On the video, it looks like she is trying to obstruct the officer. So, yeah, arrest the stupid entitled bitch.
You got the option to walk away, DO IT. You want to go home and call a lawyer to send to try to help out your friend, or even just call the Police Department yourself, that is a lot more likely to be useful.
The "no probable cause" isn't on the video, so I don't know about that, but it is not really relevant.
The cop was detaining the guy, and she interferred. She confronted the cops, looked to be touching or almost touching the cop during the incident, and certainly was verbaling inciting a confrontation.
So, yeah, the conviction seems reasonable. The sentence seems just too. Probation is no small thing, but it is not JAIL time, Shut the fuck up, stay out of trouble for a while and it all goes away. Hopefully learn something.
Even if I was convinced she was guilty beyond a reasonable I would use my power of nullification to find her not guilty because I think him slamming her to the ground is punishment enough.
It's no punishment at all. it was simply part of her arrest. That was her choice, to resist, and to be slammed.
Moving forward if she was found not guilty, that slam would have been one of her favorite stories, giving her "street cred" with her idiot friends and peers.
A year dealing with the restrictions of probation and having to learn to follow some rules or commands, THAT will be a real punishment, a minor one, fitting the small crime she committed.
Your opening posts shows that you aren’t looking to have a good faith discussion on this. You posted an opinion not a fact, and you preemptively insulted anyone that disagrees with you.
It would be like me saying she is clearly guilty, and anyone that thinks otherwise is extremely stupid. Now show your stupidity by posting a disagreement.
