Student loan forgiveness.
Are you for it or against it? Why or why not?
shareThe USA public debt is so huge that adding more onto it(which is where the student loan debt would go if it was "forgiven") would not matter. If the USA public debt had to be paid off right now that would make a majority of people in the USA homeless.
shareAgainst it. I don’t see why people should be able to rack up loans that they don’t have to pay back. I would frivolously take out more loans if I knew I didn’t have to pay them back.
shareThere should be a way to make the colleges and lenders eat the debt themselves instead of passing it onto the taxpayers.
The whole "you took out the loan, you deal with it" line is nonsense when the system is designed to take people right out of high school and before they've had any experience with debt or the real world they are tricked into signing the next 20 years of their life away. It is 100% done in bad faith to start with, the students should be able to hand back their worthless degrees to the colleges and banks that insnared them.
Honestly this has been one of the most logical takes on this issue I have heard. Thanks for the insight.
sharethe schools can afford it. University endowments in the billions:

I would only be for it if the debt is completely done away with taxpayers not paying off the debt.
shareDoes it matter ? supreme court shut it down.
