The USA public debt is so huge that adding more onto it(which is where the student loan debt would go if it was "forgiven") would not matter. If the USA public debt had to be paid off right now that would make a majority of people in the USA homeless.

The whole "you took out the loan, you deal with it" line is nonsense when the system is designed to take people right out of high school and before they've had any experience with debt or the real world they are tricked into signing the next 20 years of their life away. It is 100% done in bad faith to start with, the students should be able to hand back their worthless degrees to the colleges and banks that insnared them.
