Gays in the military openly: yay or nay?

Do you support them serving in the army? Or will it disrupt "cohesion"?

--Michael D. Clarke

reply

I'm going to go with yay.
Trans folk on the other hand, I'm giving it a thumbs down.
I can't be bothered to remember your pronouns when the enemy is shooting at us.

reply

Trans men would be a signficant disadvantage in terms of strength.

reply

Yep.
Fun fact: No woman has ever successfully passed the Navy Seal boot camp training.
Despite what you're told by woke feminists, women are not equal to men. At least not in the military.
Sorry ladies, you just don't have what it takes to be a Navy Seal. Needless to say, this applies to trannys as well.

reply

Yeah but not many men pass too..
I saw where only about 6% of applicants go to boot camp and only 25% of those go on to be Seals..So it does take a certain strength and discipline that few humans possess.
We know men are biologically going to be stronger. But Seals are not your average guy.

reply

How dare you! Trans men are performing just as well in men's sports as trans women are in women's sports.......oh, wait.

reply

yay the LGBTQIA+ Deserves the same rights as everyone else thats called progress

reply

Same rules, responsibilities, and lack of special rights as everyone else as well?

reply

Rights? Who's talking about rights?

reply

What rights do they not have?

reply

Gay orientation but no gay sex allowed! Imagine how awkward it would be to have to deal with all the gay sex during life at the base?

reply

I dont think any sex on base is supposed to be allowed. Dumbass.

reply

harsh rules!

Dont they have "Family quarters" on US bases? where the wives live on base too?

reply

Only a toddler would choose your username

Fuck off, dork

reply

Bill Clinton said it best when he said, don’t ask don’t tell.

It’s the military, stfu and follow orders. Your sexual choices are irrelevant.

reply

But they'll tell you that hiding your sexuality is like being asked to hide your race or your culture.

reply

Most people in the military nowadays don't give two shits who someone else is banging, pronouns, or about trans people serving. Pay them and give them time off and their good.

reply

Go back to "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

reply

I second that.

reply

Why?

reply

Because it worked and was sane and reasonable.

reply

This isn't really an answer. What harm does it do allowing people in the military to be openly gay?

reply

What purpose does that serve, other than to make other people sharing a confined space uncomfortable? If you have an emotional need to be open about that, you probably don't belong in the military in the first place.

reply

Why would it make people uncomfortable? What if they ask him, and he just tells them he has a boyfriend? Why does it matter?

Should all the straight men be told to shut up about their partners too?

reply

Because being in a confined space with someone who wants to dig in your ass is uncomfortable.

No, straight men aren't sexual deviants.

Sorry but "openly gay" implies being a flamboyant asshole about it.

reply

>Because being in a confined space with someone who wants to dig in your ass is uncomfortable.

Do you think that all gay people are just constantly horny and looking to have sex with any man they can?

>No, straight men aren't sexual deviants.

So all gay men are?

>Sorry but "openly gay" implies being a flamboyant asshole about it.

No it doesn't. It could just be a case of people talking about their home life and the gay soldier bring it up casually. Being "open" about being gay is no different in theory to straight people being open about being straight.

This is such a pathetic non-issue. Don't ask Don't tell has been gone for over a decade now. Nothing has happened

reply

Yes.

Yes, by definition. That is literally the definition of deviant or abnormal behavior. It serves no purpose whatsoever. Funny how the "trust the science" crew doesn't even believe their own rhetoric.

You only call it a non-issue because you want it to be. Your way of trivializing anyone who disagrees.

reply

>Yes.

So you are an ignorant homophobic bigot.

>Yes, by definition. That is literally the definition of deviant or abnormal behavior. It serves no purpose whatsoever. Funny how the "trust the science" crew doesn't even believe their own rhetoric.

Then "sexual deviant" per your terms of reference means nothing bad. Who gives a fuck if being gay is abnormal? Doesn't harm anyone here.

>You only call it a non-issue because you want it to be. Your way of trivializing anyone who disagrees.

And what makes it an issue? What horrible things have happened since it got repealed? All we have is your own paranoia, hatred of gay people.

reply

I was in the Army from 1989 to 1993. There were a few gays in our unit and you know what? Nobody cared. As long as you got my back your sexual preference is irrelevant.

reply

Lol got your back.

Signed, million man.

reply

They'll get steamrolled by the enemy either way, so why not lol.
