Homosexual marriage was a plan to destroy the power of the church

Births, marriages and deaths have traditionally been the domain of the church.

The freemasons wanted to redefine marriage so that the church will lose its authority and influence.

If homosexuality is normal and the church calls it a sin, they can be painted as bigots, guilty of a hate crime.

The time will come where governments will tell churches to allow homosexual marriages to take place inside of churches, or lose their tax status.

This has already happened in Europe.

The whole thing was a trojan horse.

Many churches welcome gay marriage already, and many more will because their members will demand it. Religion is dying in the western world. Religions that want to remain relevant will reflect the diversity of their members or disappear entirely.

John Anderson in conversation with Tom Holland ( cue the spiderman jokes ) an English historian. The interview is long and Anderson can't resist pushing his religious agenda from time to time but Holland does an excellent job of keeping the conversation on topic. Holland argues that Western Civlization is a product of Christianity and like the fish in the sea it is the water in which we in the West swim whether we know it or not, whether we are "believers" or not.

In throwing out Christianity we would saw off the branch we are sitting on. And I say this as an agnostic not a fundamentalist Christian.

Edit : Okay after twenty minutes it looks like you don't have time or couldn't be bothered watching the video so I'll say this. Before Christianity was the Roman Empire and yes it had "values" like conquest, rape, slavery, contempt for the weak, crucifixion and might makes right. Is that what you want to go back to ?

Well it certainly didn't help but the Church was in decline in the West before all of that came out. Charles Darwin delivered a slow acting poison pill with the publishing of his 'Origin of Species' in 1859.

The Trojan Horse was in Greek legend a means by which an opposing army of Greeks managed to gain entry to the city of Troy and win the battle. They built a large wooden horse and rolled it up to the barred gates of the city and left it there as a gift but it was full of their soldiers. The Trojans fell for it and brought the horse into the city and were defeated.

I think it's not so much you don't understand what he's saying but that you just think he is wrong about calling it a Trojan Horse. It is a stretch because he is going into conspiracy theory territory.
