Raise the minimum wage to an insane amount and this is what you get

America's first fully automated Mcdonald's. This is the start. Good luck to anyone without education or with education whose job can be replaced by a robot. There are going to be a lot only fans out there. Clean your buttholes.

reply

What is your specific ethnicity?

reply

Why does that matter? LOL how very leftist of you.

reply

Just another I told you so.

This could have been seen a mile away.

Such a radical increase will disrupt the enitre pay chain across the board.

Disrupt the entire pay Chain and job market..Democrats are all in

reply

radical? these companies are making huge profits while their employees get slave wages. how low should we pay people? they could hire a lot more workers. if they paid 3$ an hour. does that seem like a good amount?

reply

What century are you living in? Who's getting paid 3 dollars an hour besides 10-year-old babysitters?

reply

it was demonstrating we can lower the minimum even more and then bunch of jobs can come back. but if people cant live on such a wage then its pointless, like the current minimum wage level. t

the fact you didn't understand this shows your incredible stupidity. and you said you are financially comfortable? what job pays a brainless chimp enough to be comfortable? ill replace you day 1 LOL

reply

Do even own any assets? LOL little padawan! So cute but you stop the q-tip once you start feeling resistance.

reply

that joke may play well in the seniors home and get a good har har but it just comes off as cringe.

thank you for not addressing anything I said

reply

Minimum wages jobs are not supposed to support a household and a family. Do you even know what the fuck a minimum wage job is? It's the minimum. It's the jumping off point. It's for kids to get job experience and have something to build off of.

This is just another discussion that proves you're nothing but a teenage or twenty-something loser living in mom's basement. Not to mention a Keeliar sock. If you spent half as much time working as you do blathering your bullshit here, you might make something of yourself.

reply

no no minimum wage jobs WERENT supposed to support a household in the 1950s. you worked at your local grocery store, finished high school and with minimal or no education, you had a middle class job after a short apprenticeship.

those years are over. You like all the other costard dinosaurs are living 50 years in the past.

reply

Nothing has changed, except the attitudes of stupid liberals and the worthless children you create.

I've lived it on both sides. You've done neither.

reply

yes nothing has changed...

my grandfather zero education except high school and a 1 year apprenticeship.

bought a house in 2 years had two kids. grandmother worked bit but he was the main breadwinner. 14 years later emigrated bought an even bigger home

vs today?

nothings changed?

wow you guys are suffering mass delusions. the lies you will tell to keep up your narrative is truly pathetic. lick those rich balls simp

reply

God, you are stupid. Ask yourself why I would take such an issue with the taxes paid by "the rich". I'm not the ball licker, idiot.

reply

so as usual, can't address anything I said.

reply

As usual, no thinking on your end.

reply

oh the sweet irony. as I actual give arguments and facts and you say "nooo you are dumb wahhhhhhhhhhh".

Craig you are such an embarrassment to the human race.

reply

You're too dumb to comprehend the point I'm making.

reply

"Slaves wages"? Another term only a retarded leftist with total disconnect from reality would use.

reply

yes if you can barely get by only have the essentials. I mean you as well be getting slave wages.

billionaires buying their 4th yatchs, making record profits. while you get the crumbs. at least you can lick their balls from down there huh? id be sympathetic if you got paid to simp for them, but you just do it for free don't ya?

if governments can be used to oppress the rich and business, why can't the same governments if owned by the rich, do the same to the middle class and poor. rig the rules to help them? or are you going to tell me millionaires and billionaires don't care about money and would never ever rig the system?

reply

Do yourself a favor, stop talking about slaves. You throw around other words without regard for their meaning. You clearly don't understand the distinction between "the rich" (described by Obama as anyone making over $200k/yr), millionaires and billionaires like Jeff Bezos. You're blinded by your hate of people who have more than you and that is a big, diverse group of people. Yes, billionaires have more influence then they should but what people like you do not realize is that the government you want is FAR more dangerous.

Without those billionaires you hate, who are you going to work for?

Your problem is the way you look at the world. Here's a good lesson for you. A man who made his fortune and lost it half a dozen times once said, "everyone wants what I have but no one wants to do what I did to get it". People like you are good examples of this. You see injustice everywhere but your own behavior.

reply

"hey maybe we should have a fairer tax rate"

"OMG you hate the rich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

yes the government I want....where... people can't donate huge amounts and spend unlimited amounts so they have less influence..the donation cap is lowered so middle class and poor have just as much influence as the wealthy. so in other words, the same system most other democracies have.... but you have to imply I want some socialist dictatorship haha

you guys are really uneducated aren't you?

you said nothing significant at all or addressed what I said. good job :)

OHH RIGHT im the problem hahahah.

you rich ball suckers are the worst

reply

Envy is an ugly thing.

reply

no arguement yet again! no rebuttal to what I said!

im noticing a trend. I destroy your nonsense. and I get back a comment that has nothing to do with anything.

reply

That's how I know you're Keeliar.

reply

again no argument. the trend continues. 90% of your replies could be summed up as "WAHHHHHHHHHH"

reply

And that is your canned response when you have nothing else. You hate people who have more than you and that is all it is. I have more than you ever will, so you can hate me for that too.

reply

Next they’ll write a law insisting that certain jobs can’t be automated; akin to those handful of states that outlawed self-service fuel pumps to protect certain unskilled workers from advancements that left them superfluous

reply

Here is a comparison of the GDPs per capita in states with low vs "high" min. wage:

GDP per cap. Min. Wage GDP per cap. Min. Wage
NY 102k 13.20 GA 69k 7.25
Mass 97k 14.25 ID 57k 7.25
Wash 93k 14.49 Ind 66k 7.25
Colo 82k 12.56 IA 72k 7.25
Cali 91k 15.00 KS 71k 7.25
Conn 88k 14.00 NH 75k 7.25
Del 86k 10.50 SC 56k 7.25
N.D. 96k 7.25 Ark 54k 7.25
AK 88k 10.34 LA 51k 7.25

GRRR! Damn app can't handle the simplest table! But you can still read the results. I rather like the correlation between wage and gdp, don't you?

reply

North Dakota GDP per capita $96k? WTF? Alaska $88k?

On the other side, I don't believe median income is $102k in New York, nor $91k in California. Those numbers are distorted by incomes of the top 1% in Manhattan and Silicon Valley.

reply

Learn what things mean before you spout off about them.

reply

cool your jets hombre

Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

How do you explain Alaska having the same GDP per capita as Connecticut, when CONN's minimum wage is 40% higher?

reply

AK is what is known in statistics as an outlier. It doesn't disprove the main trend of higher min wage = higher GDP per capita.

reply

North Dakota another outlier.
New Hampshire another
Delaware another

reply

You keep trying and failing to dispute the thrust of the numbers. ND, like AK, is skewed because of the very low population sample. Delaware does fit the function--above average min wage=above average GDP; also NH is not an outlier-- low min wage= low GDP. You can't dispute the correlation, although you could dispute the causation if you could show some other factor correlating with low GDP other than low wages--lower education levels?--but that goes hand-in-hand with low wages. This thread is attracting no other interest so I am done.

reply

What does this have to do with minimum wage - haven't robots always been in the works to replace jobs?

reply

More people make and buy more things with more wages. It's simple, really. It has nothing to do with robots, as smugly named "It'sgood2beright" posits in his OP.

reply

More people make and buy more things with more wages. It's simple, really.

It doesn’t work that way. Businesses aren’t going to just take a loss on payroll, they are going to raise their prices to recoup some of the losses. It’s called inflation. Their new salary now has the same value as their old salary, so it do nothing to improve their station in life. It’s like saying just print more money.

I live in a state where minimum wage has gone up 5 dollars in the last 3 years. People still complain that it isn’t enough, and it’s done nothing to improve the quality of unskilled workers.

reply

Ok, I'll try and explain it to you the way you leftists think. The left says if a character in a movie is retarded, black, and crippled then the role should be given to a black retard who uses crutches. Well, why give jobs to robots when there are humans out there who actually need the job to earn the money to feed their families?

reply

I don't understand the issue with thinking this way. There are humans who have families to feed, whereas robots do not have families to feed, as far as I know, so wanting people to keep their jobs is understandable, despite the greater efficiency and lesser cost of using robot workers. Not sure what this has to do with raising minimum wage or corporate greed, which has been planning to replace people with robots for decades at least.

reply

Automation is typically introduced because it is more cost effective than paying a person for the same or greater output.

The point they appear to be making is that if labour costs are too high, jobs are lost to automation. This has been happening steadily for 40 or so years I guess?

reply

The sooner we evolve society to not working and robot monkey butlers serving us cocktails the better!

automated Mcdonald's, self checkouts and delivery drones etc are the start of this .

reply

That's the left for you. If we can't control black slaves anymore we gotta come up with something.

reply

yea instead people should accept slave/poverty wage. how low do we go?

reply

That's the problem. You keep calling it slave wages instead of calling it what it really is. Back in the day if you went to school, worked hard, made goals, and had ambition normally that kind of character would take you places. Back in my day if you made minimum wage you were either in high school (first job) or fucking stupid. The minimum wage is not for migrant workers or illegals either. Those guys get paid under the table no taxes taken out. They make way more than minimum wage in the end. If you're well into your 30s and still making or worrying about minimum wage, the problem isn't the system. Don't get mad at what is not at fault. Get mad at your parents for not selecting a better mate to have better genes in the offspring. You can't blame society for you being a dummy.

I haven't felt minimum wage since high school. Even then I was probably doing a side hustle to earn extra money anyway. I am sorry and do sympathize that you are stupid, close to 40, and still making minimum wage. Still, I don't feel that bad because I'm nothing special and I'm not gifted but I still am financially comfortable. I worked hard for mine, you lazy fucks should try the same instead of whinning all the time.

reply

soooo much stupidity in one comment.

so who is going to work during the day when the kids are at school?

im 23, own a house and two cars. hahahah you are the epitome of a stupid conservative. you tried to sound intelligent and condescending and look like an ass.

yes people working 50 hours a week at macdonalds busy ass morning shifts are just "lazy".

reply

so who is going to work during the day when the kids are at school?
Your mommy and daddy? WTF does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

im 23, own a house and two cars.
Living in your parent's house does not count as being a homeowner. Nice try. You're so cringe.

yes people working 50 hours a week at macdonalds busy ass morning shifts are just "lazy".
The people working 50 hours a week aren't the ones complaining about anything. They love your type because your type is always complaining and lazy which gives the hardworking type opportunity for well over 40 hours a week which gets them into overtime pay.

reply

yes they are the ones complaining. they are the ones who voted for and supported minimum wage increases. how out of touch are you?

reply

I have my own business which is responsible for feeding close to 35 families. I have 3 employees on salary, full-timers make a killing, and the only employees who make minimum are the students that work over the summer or winter. Get some life experience.

reply

omg so YOU have a business that doesn't pay minimum. I guess none do then!!!

wow maybe get an education and learnt how logic works. "I don't pay minimum so no one does"

I guess you don't need to be smart to own a business

reply

WTF you don't even make sense in your words. I always have to reread what you post. English can not be your first language.

I just said I pay a few employees minimum wage because they are students with very little skill or experience. They should be making 12.50 an hour, not 15.

You have zero logic you leftist retard. Only an idiot would brag about being a lefty anyway. Even if I go radio silent I still win by default.

reply

you didn't address anything I said. good job.

So again all those hard working people and there's tens of millions making minimum, are the ones advocating higher pay clown.

reply

It's a shame you hate working people so much.

Why don't you fight to end democracy so you can take more of their rights? Oh, right. You are.

reply

Why don't you fight to end democracy so you can take more of their rights?

That is precisely what the left-democrats-socialist-liberals have been doing for almost two hundred years.

As per the OP's statement:
The democratic-left "working people" demanded an insane raise in minimum wage and they got it...and now they no longer have a job since they have been replaced by automated-technology that will not be bitching and whining about a raise.

reply

Minimum wage in Texas is 7.25, moron.

But keep being a stooge for the ultra rich

reply

So you are demanding a raise from those ultra-rich?

reply

It's easier to pacific them with an extra 75 cents a day that will get them nowhere, than to raise Mitt Romney's tax rate to 22% so we can start paying off our debt to China.

reply

record corporate profits, record level wealth of the rich, record wealth gap.

productivity constantly going up while the poor and middle class has seen zero of that increase. Where did all that money go?

reply

Are you stupid?

reply

"I'm 23, own a house"

Sounds like you made money the old-fashioned way - you inherited it.

Or else you were a child entertainer in film or TV.

reply

im incredibly frugal. I only buy items on sale. I have saved top four years while living with family.

reply

There's more to your story than you're sharing with us.

reply

if you are actually interested ill elaborate. I make decent money nothing outstanding im by no means "rich".

I only buy food on sale using flyers and freeze most of it. Meaning my food costs are around 40% of what they would be at full price. let's say I spend 500 on food a month (instead of 1100) . that means I saved almost 30 thousands in the last 4 years. (600X 12 months X 4 years). that was a decent chunk of my down payment.

as I said i got to live with family to save. even with the example of a low rent (in my area) of some bedroom in someone's house for 700$ a month, that's a lot of money I saved not paying for rent. that's 700X 12 months X 4 years. that was an extra 33 000 that went to my down payment.

my work is within 5km. I bought a car that's older (2009) but with low miles and in great condition for a good price. ive always had great luck with cars in terms of breakages and repairs. idk how just luck. I don't even have collision on it meaning my insurance is 40$ a month. I don't have collusion (an extra 35 a month).because 99% of my travelling is within 5km and the speed limit is 35. I never have since I got my licence. ive saved. 35X12 monthsX 4 years =almsot 2000 there.

I don't have Netflix or amazon prime.

I was also taught growing up that "you may want it but you don't NEED it". and that has led to a lot of purchasing restraint in life and savings too.

It's amazing how much you can save doing all these things for years. but I know my case is extreme, real life is full of surprises and unforeseen costs (ive luckily avoided).

I like being solo and independent, good luck trying this frugal lifestyle with a wife and kids . telling her "yaaa soo sweetie we aren't going out for dinner I can cook at home. oh and don't buy any red onions and peppers this week. they may be on sale next week. and we will use the ground beef that I bought on sale last week for 2.99 alb instead of full price at 4.99-5.99 to make a chilli. which we will then eat for 3 days in a row because the cost per meal works out to 2$ (because I don't care and can eat the same meal over and over and over again im weird like that)"

this sort of level of savings would be impossible with a partner who isn't 100% on board like I am. the double income may help get the initial mortgage, or also have double to income to save more for a home. However it also doubles all the baseline costs (insurance, food and having to rent a bigger place). Or if they don't rent most wives don't want to live with their in-laws to save up

so just from those simple things I did I saved, or at least didn't spend, 66 000 dollars. that was around my down payment.

reply

What a crock of shit...fucking liar! You live with your parents or you live with mommy and you reside in the basement. Usually, low-rent area stands for section 8 project housing.

Also, you are supposedly 23 but you're always here posting. Forums are for old people and hackers. The youngsters don't have the attention span to read all the threads. If you are 23 then you're a loser. You need to get out and make friends. 23 I would never be caught dead on some forum on a Friday or Saturday night.

You remind me of Wendell from Key & Peele.

good rebuttal.well this site clearly isn't for thinking people as you demonstrate.

yes im young and have an interest in politics. I generally work Friday and Saturday night however we had a freak snowstorm here so we closed.

sorry im not sitting at some bar, trying to chat up a bartender like a fat old bar fly like you

reply

This is how I know you're a fucking nerd. Why do you have to meet friends or the opposite sex at a pub? You watch too many movies. Get out and experience real life.

reply

I have. by 18 id lived in another country for two years and visited 7.

hahahah you have nothing you are soo desperate to land anything.

what a loser you are :)

reply

Where is your proof?

Right because you posted it on the net it's true. LOL you're just weird now.

reply

same for you. you are an embarrassing loser

reply

Why would you lay anchor anywhere when you're 23? You don't know when your employer will go bankrupt or sell his business. This has been true since at least the early 1990's. Apart from the tragedy of something like that, there's the opportunity that will present itself, and it always does, and you're saddled with a house you'll need to sell, and maybe time is of the essence.
