The disagreement is that everyone who is male is additionally a boy who turns into a man, and everyone who is female is additionally a girl who turns into a woman. Male and female are biological types dictated by science (chromosomes), but boy, girl, man, woman are social constructs that mean whatever society dictates they mean.
Sex is biological like age. Gender is societal like a name. You can't change your age, but you can change your name. Saying a male can't be a woman is like me saying Shapiro can't use the nickname Ben because that name isn't on his birth certificate. It's Benjamin.
It is a completely legitimate comparison. We have set scientific parameters as to what constitutes a male just like we have set scientific parameters as to what constitutes a 40 year old. If someone can change their gender just by saying so then I should be able to change my age just by saying so and you are an ageist for trying to deny me who I really am. Also Boy, girl, man and women refer to male and female you idiot which is dictated by their chromosomes, you are just making things up. If you are XY you are a male, you can still pretend you’re a female but you are a male. If I have lived 40 years I am a 40 year old but by your standard I should be able to pretend that I’m 27 and you should go along with it and accept it. You are saying I have to be a 40 year old because that’s what’s on the birth certificate yet you don’t apply that standard to sex, so which is it? Does the birth certificate matter or not? If a persons genetic makeup is up for debate then so is the displacement of the fabric of space time and the 4th dimension
