Trump vows to intervene in Texas election case before Supreme Court

https://www.reuters.com/article/usa-election-trump/trump-vows-to-intervene-in-texas-election-case-before-supreme-court-idUSKBN28J1VJ

President Donald Trump on Wednesday vowed to intervene in a long-shot lawsuit by the state of Texas filed at the U.S. Supreme Court trying to throw out the voting results in four states he lost to President-elect Joe Biden as he seeks to undo the outcome of the election.

The Republican president, writing on Twitter, said: “We will be INTERVENING in the Texas (plus many other states) case. This is the big one. Our Country needs a victory!”

The lawsuit, announced on Tuesday by the Republican attorney general of Texas Ken Paxton, targeted the election battleground states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Trump has falsely claimed he won re-election and has made baseless allegations of widespread voting fraud.

Trump provided no details on the nature of the intervention in the case that he was promising, including whether it would be his presidential campaign or the U.S. Justice Department that would take action.

Officials from the four states at issue have called the lawsuit a reckless attack on democracy while legal experts gave it little chance to succeed. It was filed directly with the Supreme Court rather than with a lower court, as is permitted for certain litigation between states.

Election interference much? Less than a week left to spread his disinformation campaign in hopes of overturning thousands of voter ballots in hopes of winning. If he can't 'GUS', the only recourse left may be him to incite his rabid base to use as a shield barrier to prevent anyone from evicting him from the WH (please please please make it happen). C'mon Trump, don't disappoint me in the entertainment side of things.

Trump is trying to overthrow democracy and the Republicans are going along with it.

By the way, the Electoral College, can still vote Clinton into office when they meet in December!

Read It And Weep!

"There's another way Donald Trump's presidency might be stopped – but it could go horribly wrong"

"When voters cast their ballots in the US, they’re not actually directly choosing a winner – but instead an ‘elector’ who will ultimately represent the views of the electorate when the College meets in mid-December. They are expected to vote the way there states voted – however there is very little to stop the electors from changing their ballots if they disagree."

lol at history...

reply

Unlike Trump, Biden won both the electoral and popular vote.

reply

with chicanery and voter fraud...anyone can win in that case...

reply

You do like your chicanery don't you?

reply

i am just repeating what your dementia patient has been saying...chicanery...

reply

Ok there buddy, have fun with it.

reply

joke biden said chicanery, and he won by chicanery...

chicanery

reply

getting more votes == chicanery

reply

cheating === chicanery

reply

People didn't have to cheat, they were happy to vote for Biden. Have you seen the alternative??

reply

Yup, and since Hillary never fought for it, and since Biden won by larger margins in "close" states, and since Biden also won the popular vote by millions, that should tell Trump to not fight for it either, just like it should tell every loser of the election.

It should. But this is Trump. He cries about everything.

reply

true, but nancy and her gang fought it for 4 years...they spent every day trying to find a way to get rid of Trump...Trump is the only President in history to be under attack by the entire media, celebrities, hollywood and the world for his entire 4 year term...now you have a 78 yr old dementia patient who cant even get peoples names right.

reply

Every president is under attack by the media, it's part of the job. He just chose to be a whiney bitch about it.

reply

not as much as Trump though, colbert made his career mocking Trump, SNL had a skit every week mocking Trump. literally every known liberal mocked Trump for 4 years. its unprecedented. now the only news outlet that will challenge biden in Fox news. everything will be peaches and cream and everything biden does will be awesome, and they will blame all the bad things on the republicans. when the corona virus is finally wiped out, biden will get all the credit. there will be no mention of Trump and how he started OWS.

reply

Awww poor Trumpy got made fun of like every president. Awww poor Trumpy got asked questions by the media he didn't like. Like I said, it happens to every president. Gerald Ford was torn apart on SNL.
You Trump supporters are a bunch of oversensitive snowflakes. You are far too invested in someone you don't know. Let it go.

reply

Just mention the birther movement and Trump's part in it. Pure harassment.

reply

Russiagate was to find out how much his campaign knew about the DNC server hack. It was never about impeaching Trump. Trump engaged in so much obstruction of justice during that investigation that Pelosi could've impeached him for it. Mueller left it up to her, and she said no.

For four years, Hillary testified a dozen times for Benghazi, they had over 30 hearings, and to this day we don't even know what they were trying to find out. Yet Trumpers agree in unison she should be locked up for whatever that thing is they find that they haven't found yet.

reply

it was about removing Trump from office, that has been the dems goal for 4 years. nancy and the dems have been trying to get rid of Trump since he won on 2016, thats when the Russia-Collusion rumors started. but none of it was true. Trump won fair and square and ruined hillary's dream of being the first female president.

reply

Trump manipulated a lot of people and the Bernie Sanders voters pushed him to a win. This time they pushed the election to Biden. Can't fool them twice.

reply

If Russiagate was about removing Trump from office, then Pelosi would've impeached him after Mueller provided evidence of a dozen instances of obstruction of justice. Pelosi went on the record saying she preferred to vote him out in 2020.

Trumpers don't care about facts though.

reply

What are you talking about, sounds like some sort of conspiracy theory! Where are your sources?

I know that Texas, the state of Texas and 18 other states have a lawsuit with the supreme court over a constitutional issue, I know that's big news past few days

Also Hunter Biden is under federal investigation today, thats some news also

reply

Willful ignorance on your part. Biden won both the electoral and popular vote. Stop trying to destroy the republic by replacing it with an inept dictator who killed 285,000 Americans with Covid.

reply

Wohh woh woh there
Your original post said Trumps destroying democracy, but now its a republic?

You conspiracy theorists have no idea what you are talking about.

OOo yeh hot top, America is in the world. COVID is affecting the world.
And Americans are fat and have Vitamin deficiencies and diabetes at a larger scale than other countries.
Soo wouldn't it be fair to say the high rate of COVID deaths have more to do with the overall general health of the population
Because like, its not healthy being fat or being on pills and pills and more pills. Like, that fucks your immune system up, especially if you don't get vitamins, and yeah, not many vitamins in fast food

But then Trump eats fast food a bit, in his 70's, overweight, but he got over COVID in 3days... hrm.....

Not everything's a conspiracy theory man, and the sky is not falling in

And if you are fit and healthy, then DON'T FUCKING WORRY ABOUT COVID, I'M NOT!!!!
LOL but your not are you! That's why you had this emotional response.

Loose some fucking weight then, and don't push your shit onto me. Fuck off

reply

I'm sure you believe there are lizard people raping children and controlling the world, too. You death cultists are completely irrational. Seek help!

reply

hahaha now your talking about that conspiracy theory!

I note your response was pretty soft, guess you don't want me to load up on you again because I hit a bit too close to home

Fuck off and loose some weight and stop pushing your bullshit onto others

reply

"Trump vows to intervene in Texas election case before Supreme Court"

Stick to the above topic instead of trolling.

reply

After Texas, 17 other states followed suit too.

Fake news tells you that December 14 is the deadline. NOT TRUE. January 20th at noon is the date. The day Donald J. Trump will be sworn in again.

reply

Only someone who hates democracy and the republic would support overturning the will of the majority of Americans. Biden won the electoral and popular vote. What sore losers and crybabies Trump and his death cult turned out to be.

reply

There's nothing to overturn. Biden is playing pretend because George Snuffleopogus told him he won.

Democracy is doing what Trump is doing. He doesn't want millions upon millions of voters to be disenfranchised. He just wants to get to the truth, which there's a mountain of.

You guys are all for investigating anything and everything concerning Trump for the past four years and have come up empty. You can at least give the courtesy of an investigation into this for at least 2 & 1/2 months.

But you guys are the real crybabies. You've been crying non-stop for 4 years.

reply

Trump lost. Stop crying about it.

He's got a fork stuck in him, he is done.

Overcooked and too orange for anyone to want to eat.

reply

No one is crying. That's your specialty.

It's not over.

reply

Oh I assure you it's over. Trump is losing all his lawsuits.

Keep on crying your river. I sustain on the tears of your disappointment.

reply

It's not over??

Are you kidding me? Is that seriously your mentality? You should consider suing Trump for what he's done to you mentally. He's a billionaire, he can afford to give all his supporters compensation.

reply

It's not just Trump. It's the entire Republican Party. The ones criticizing Trump like Mitt Romney or Gabriel Sterling are the exception, not the norm. Don't be fooled by the MSM saying that most Republican officials want Trump out. They're more than happy to keep him in power.

Most of the state attorneys general that backed Ken Paxton's lawsuit belong to the Federalist Society whose members actually participated in a number of Trump's failed lawsuits. It also holds huge influence over Congressional Republicans (it's no coincidence that 106 House Republicans support Paxton). The Federalist Society now holds six seats on the Supreme Court. Three of them filled by Trump.

This is a power grab by the Republican Party, not just Trump. He's the distraction. The modern GOP has always had this anti-democratic undercurrent since Lee Atwater. It's why they keep pandering to these far right extremist groups.

reply

It's theater.

reply

Damn! I've seen 3 year olds at the toy store respond to disapointment and "not getting what they want" Better than this fat orange buffoon.
