I hear ya and can relate. I'm an Independent; I'm just thoroughly against the modern Democrat Party and their blatant anti-American activities.
But recall our recent history: The ire of Dems/Libs rose to the fore with George W. and the division in the country increased greatly under Obama with:
- his lies ("If you like your doctor...", the "spontaneous reaction to a video" deception);
- corruption (IRS targeting conservatives, Fast & Furious & Eric Holder’s resignation, NSA domestic spying, weaponizing the FBI for political gain);
- incompetence (fudging-up the health care system, the Benghazi fiasco, the Bowe Bergdahl farce, failed green investment like Solyndra)'
- and absurd social re-engineering to appease SJW loons (legally allowing mentally ill men to use the women's restroom).
What has Trump done since becoming President? Cut taxes, cut out strangling regulations, added 4 million jobs, significantly reduced unemployment in all demographics (the lowest since '69), made wise trade deals, made the economy boom, nominated wise judges, improved border security, effective foreign policy, etc.
In a nutshell he's improving America step by step. But Dems/Libs don't like that and that is where the division stems.

Yeah, because Dems/Libs & their mainstream media keep slandering the president and perpetually stir up hatred & division.
When one shuts his/her ears to their constant bickering the country's doing better than ever in the modern era; and there's peace & happiness all over. There's suffering in America too -- like drug addiction, homelessness and thousands of people constantly illegally entering the country to find a better life -- but Trump's policies are an effective start to diminishing these problems.
