TSWLM real story

I believe that I remember reading the real story in a james Bond magazine.
The story is set in a motel and Bond and a woman are chased by a hitman/hitmen.
I remember it being a very tense and good story.
Would be fun to watch it as a bondmovie.

Judging from your short (though not very concise) summary, your belief regarding your memory may be correct and you have read the story (actually, it is a novel).

For a Bond story, however, it is rather unusual in that Bond really only shows up in the final chapter(s), and that it is written as a first-person account by the protagonist, Vivienne Michel.

I enjoyed reading it. In fact, by some strange coincidence, it was the first James Bond novel I ever read, at some time in the 70s. And yes, I also agree that it could be turned into a decent movie, though not a "Bond film". Reception of the novel was so bad, however, that Fleming insisted nothing from the plot was to be used in movies. So only the title (and the one baddie's steel-capped teeth) were employed by EoN later on.

Verily I say unto thee...as basic as this story is it would be a 1000 times better than the insipid QoS which is so bad it defies description.

I'm surprised they haven't used the name Viviane Michel in a film. Sounds exotic...

Although calling a baddie 'Terror' (or was it 'Horror'?) may not play in the Craig era. Even Rog would probably raise an eyebrow at that name.

"What are you, some kind of doomsday machine, boy?"

Sounds exotic...
Sounds French. The character is Canadian.

We already had a Chuck Norris villain named "Terror". Jack O'Halloran in HERO AND THE TERROR.

Connery, Moore, and Brosnan! Accept NO substitutes!

reply

Yeah well it was a long time ago so I remember the plot very vagely but I do remember enjoying it.
