Villian Elimination: Dr.No vs Le Chiffre

So is Scaramanga is through, along with Zorin, Trevelyan, Carver Goldfinger, Blofeld(YOLT) and Greene. That was a hottly contested match up, the closest one so far.
I foresee another close one here, with two classic Fleming villians going head to head.

Dr.No vs Le Chiffre

A clash of the titans here. First up Dr.No. The one that started it all, in terms of the films, and the blueprint for all to follow. A nicely mannered performance by Joseph Wiseman, it is easy to forget that the titular character doesnt even appear until late on in his movie. Excellently written, an ambitious, but realistic master plan also. Offers a good physical threat to Bond, with them going toe to toe at the climax. Pretty much has it all as Bond villian.

When it comes to Le Chiffre, the producer's wisely stuck to Fleming and left him as somewhat of a desperate middle man, rather than all out mastermind. This makes him stand out from a lot of other Bond villians. An excellent performance from Mads Mikkelsen, that manages to avoid any mustache twirling. And how can we forget THAT scene where Bond goes nuts(anyone? anyone?..ah well). Another top echelon Bond villian.

My Pick: Dr.No(by a fraction)
