Villain Elimination: Elektra vs Kamal Khan

So Sanchez is through and Waltz is the second Blofeld eliminated.

On to the next matchup.

Elektra King vs Kamal Khan

Decent match up this. Kamal first, Let me start by saying I love Louis Jordan as an actor. I saw in a post recently on here that made an excellent point. He would have suited playing an ally of Bond's, ala Kerim Bey than a villain. Despite his willingness to kill thousands of people to achieve his ends, he just comes across as, well, friendly! And genial! nothing wrong with the writing here, just the wrong choice of actor methinks.

On to Elektra. Apart from the most obvious twist in the franchise, I think she a strong character. I love the psycho-sexual relationship that she has with Bond, and the genuine remorse Bond shows when he has to gun her down portrays the depth of feeling he has for her (great scene btw). Say what you want about Brosnan and the films he starred in, but he had a strong run of villains and Elektra was no different.

My Pick: Elektra

Thank you, phil, for you-know-what :-).

This is a face-off between two mediocre villains in two of my least-favourite Bond films. I might as well roll a dice. Louis Jourdan is wasted in OP, the only really interesting (if overacted) villain is Orlov. The revelation of Elektra being the real mastermind basically serves to destroy all efforts so far to make Renard a worthy Bond baddie. Both cause what I would consider "epic fail[ure]s".

Still, for the sake of this game, I guess I have to go with Elektra, who at least looks smashing, in spite of a somewhat lacking acting effort by Sophie Marceau.

I'm not entirely sure if you mean this as actual praise or as sarcasm. Judging the Nicolas Cage part, probably the latter.

No, actual praise. Ham is something only few can pull off, and when it works, it works wonderfully.

Not a fan of either villain or movie, but I'll go with Elektra since at least she's not boring.

Orlov would win hands down here if he was the OP villain represented. He is probably in the lower end of my top ten Bond villains.
