Jonathan Pryce as Elliot Carver

A reason I love Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) is how good Pryce is as the villain.

Pryce is usually good in everything he is in but it so good in this film.

I think he is one of the better James Bond villains and really the last good one, Graves was average in Die Another Day and I don't rate any of the Craig villains , Blofeld is a remake of original, Silva is similar to Renard, Le Chiffe isnt a real Bond Villain, he is a henchman and less said about Greene the better.

I love how Carver imitated Wait Lin's fighting and said 'Pathetic' and he is the first Bond villain to swear.

And of course where he compares himself to William Randolph Hearst.

You dumb kid.

I like Pryce as Carver for the same reasons you do. Very entertaining.

What no man Can give ya. And none Can take away.

Mediocre

Well, he's certainly a fair match for Brosnan in the fitness'n'fighting stakes.

"Security - release the badgers."

And in the (acting) stakes too... if you want jacked muscled men with very little dialogue fighting I suggest you watch UFC - although Daniel Craig couldn't even muster tough talk if he tried, he's so devoid of any bravado or charisma needed to live.

What provoked that? Irrational.

I'm motivated by my Duty.

Just telling how it is.... Honesty is always the best policy.

Verily I say unto thee..Pryce made a fine villain and his performance was enhanced by being part of the most exhilarating and exciting Bond film of the last 20 years.
