Why didn't Pierce Brosnan drive an Aston Martin?

At least until Die Another Day:

Bond did not drive an Aston in the 1990s, instead having to drive BMWs, because one of the Aston Martins at the time--the DB7-- was considered an abomination of the automobile...at least within Q's expectations.

But remember he drives the DB5 in GOLDENEYE, and it also appears for a moment in TOMORROW NEVER DIES.

But I get the point, he wasn't driving the modern Aston Martin of the day in mission mode. That goes to product placement in part, I guess.

Never heard the comment of the DB7 as an abomination--though that's pretty close to assessments of the 70s Lotus Esprit.

I'm motivated by my Duty.

They had a marketing deal with BMW for three films.

He did in GoldenEye. Then there's only two movies he doesn't.

IIRC, in TND the DB5 is also at least parked outside the building in which Bond is brushing up on a little Danish.

I think you're right. Now we're left with just one movie sans Aston Martin.

The DB5 is also visible on the thermal camera footage in TWINE.
