Bond PTS Tournament Round 1: Moonraker vs Quantum Of Solace

In the last match, Die Another Day went through. Live And Let Die fell to the wayside.

On to the next one.

Moonraker vs Quantum Of Solace.

Both have exhilarating moments, QOS is ruined by the godawful Greengrass style editing. Still, it does connect to the main plot.

Moonraker's also connects to the main plot, and features one of the most dizzying and spectacular action scenes in the whole series. One could argue an ill thought out attempt at comedy towards the climax undermines it somewhat, but IMO, the action beforehand is so memorable, I can forgive!

Rules- voting will end 24 hours after the first post. I will not be around to immediately close the thread then but will only count votes within the time limit.

In the case of a tie the first vote after the time limit breaks the tie and ends all voting. You may also change your vote at any time while a competition is ongoing, and you may break a tie by doing so, but if a result is reached by the time limit or someone has cast a tie breaking vote all votes are locked.

Moonraker. I hate the comic relief with Jaws surviving his fall and the circus music, but even that doesn't ruin it.
QOS is awesome but too messy and shaky.

I think QOS's car chase is unbelievably exciting and don't think the editing is that bad for it, it's the best edited of all the action in the movie and miles better than the incomprehensible boat chase. When all is said and done it's probably the best car chase of the series from an action stand point.

Still, an exciting car chase is not match for old-school, high-flying stunt work, and Moonraker's skydiving is among the best. I vote MR.

MOONRAKER's first half of the pre-title sequence is the best of all Bond films, in spite of the second half. It's that good.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE is awesome in its own way, supercharged arthouse Bond. Sound and vision.

But MOONRAKER.
