Which is the best torture scene in the Bond series?

Verily I say unto thee..torture is a topic that has hit the headlines this week due to President Trump's views on the subject and this prompts me to think of all the torture scenes that we have seen in the Bond films over the years and to consider which is the best and it would be good to hear your choices. They don't necessarily have to have Bond himself as the victim, one thinks of the suggested rather than graphically shown torture of Domino aboard the Disco Volante in THUNDERBALL. My favourite is the torture Bond endured at the hands of Le Chiffre in CASINO ROYALE (2006) which was extremely well portrayed and takes some beating (no pun intended). What do you guys think?

Casino Royale.

Also the laser scene in GF, if we count that as torture.

In the film series, the torture scene in CASINO ROYALE stands head-and-shoulders above the rest. It's real full-on, balls-out entertainment. I'll bet there isn't a guy alive who doesn't suffer some degree of "contraction" whilst watching that...

However, the novel series by Ian Fleming and others regularly eclipses anything seen in the film series. With a particular nod to BROKENCLAW by John Gardner.

CR

Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.

CR is certainly the most brutally realistic torture scene in the Bond series...and is taken almost verbatim from the novel.
The most famous one, thouh is, Goldfinger's laser from Goldfinger.

How so?

The actual tool of torture is completely different. As are several other factors.

Don't be a carpet beater now.

It's pretty close. As hyperbole on this board goes, "almost verbatim" is discreet.

I'll try not to balls it up too much.

In any case, don't mind me...

It's probably just because I'm currently re-reading - and immensely enjoying - the original IF novels. They're all so sharp and fresh in my mind.

Well, all things considered the film CLOSELY matches the book for the torture and its setup. It's a huge surprise the filmmakers took it on full force the way they did and as I said even improved on it.

Variations for the carpet beater versus the monkeyfist, and how the ending plays out with OO7 provoking his torturer to lose control are something to relish. And Casino Royale is my favorite Fleming novel.

I'm motivated by my Duty.
