Pierce Brosnan Should Have Continued as James Bond

He did four films

GoldenEye (1995)
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
The World Is Not Enough (1999)
Die Another Day (2002)

And Everything Or Nothing (2003) video game.

Personally I think he should have done a fifth film, rather than recasting the role for a reboot which isn't that much like Bond.

Brosnan in some ways was the best Bond he was suave, sophisticated, intelligent l, a good actor(everything that Craig isn't), he had the psychical toughness and could do fights etc, He was cool, I love the scene in Die Another Day (2002), where he takes the diamond smuggler's sunglasses as though to say 'they look better on me'.

His era had the most gadgets and guns and more action than the other Bonds before him, Connery's Bond had a wager with the villain, they played golf in Goldfinger (1964), Brosnan's Bond had a wager with a villain, they had a sword fight in Die Another Day (2002).

He was 49 in his last film, some say too old, though that is how old Craig is now and people want him to continue, but then again Roger Moore was in his 50s in his later Bonds and looked terrible, though even now Brosnan looks OK.

I think of all the Bond actors, Brosnan was the one who I wished did more, I liked Dalton but he clearly didn't want to do anymore.

I would have loved Broz to have had a 5th film.

The problem being, if they where dead set on filming Casino Royale, that would have only of worked with a younger man.

Mmmmmmm....no.

Nah

I wish he would've got a swan song film (knowing it would be his last one) and one that felt closer to GE than DAD. Could've been done in 2004 (2 years after DAD, 2 years before CR). Everything or Nothing was too good of a title for a Bond film and would've been perfect for Brosnan's final film, unfortunate it was used on a video game instead.

The decline in quality in his movies from GE on further down with every step sort of burned him for further movies. Everybody would have expected an even greater mess than DAD the next time around. So no, I liked him playing the character, but it was ok that he quit (or they made him quit) after his fourth.

That being said, I think that Craig is rather a better actor than Brosnan...whatever one thinks of his looks being compatible with the cliché Bond character or not.

Daniel Craig has many advantages over Brosnan such as his physicality, fighting skills and as his hater I'll admit he has those things going for him..... But by God!!!! he's not in Pierce's league when it comes to acting anyone who isn't braindead should know that... Obviously you're severely lacking a brain.

I agree that Brosnan should have went out with a stronger fifth film, and in a perfect world it would have happened but he wanted something like $25 million plus a much larger backend deal/percentage of box office than he got for Die Another Day. Plus his original contract was up with TWINE.

Everything or Nothing was excellent by the way. Criminally underrated game.

Yeah, that would have been nice.

Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.
