Bond PTS Tournament Round 1: Never Say Never Again vs Tomorrow Never Dies

So in a battle of two strong contenders Octopussy dropped out and Thunderball triumphed.

Now for this next matchup I have put NSNA in as a replacement for Doctor No, which has no real PTS.
I am aware that NSNA doesnt also, but for the purposes of this I am referring to the action scene that plays over the titles.

Never Say Never Again vs Tomorrow Never Dies.

For me, this is closer than expected. NSNA has a night, tight action sequence that features the geriatric Bond systematically run through a bunch of armed guards, and even offers a bit of mystery when Bond is apparently stabbed at the climax of the scene.

Tomorrow has Bond going about his business in a similar, albiet more spectacular, fashion. I am a big fan of the cut between the action and the approaching Cruise Missile, it helps ramp up the tention. I wasnt a fan of the talking heads bits back at Mi6 though. Still all in all the ground action and the aerial dogfight make this a big hitter.

My vote: Tomorrow Never Dies.

TND.

Though I don't think NSNA's is all that bad, it's just the music that kills it.

TND. Though NSNA is pretty fun, in an odd way.

Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.

TND, the best of the Brosnan-era PTSs IMHO.

I choose TOMORROW NEVER DIES, one of my favorites. His job!

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN is much improved with some Bond music, as noted. But what isn't?

Then is just needed a kickass title song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm5vbXDiptU

I'm motivated by my Duty.

That was rather amusing and well done, but I think I'll stay with the original version.

"Then is just needed a kickass title song."

It already has a very good title song.

One of my favourites.

A difficult choice, as I'm very fond of both films, but I'll have to go with TOMORROW NEVER DIES.

Good to see NSNA in the tournament.

Okay, this one I'll keep brief. NSNA's intro is not bad per se, but it's not Bondian enough. Like the rest of the film, it looks, or at least feels cheap, and while I like the song, it's not the most appropriate for a Bond film.

TND's PTS is as Bondian as it gets. Spectacular stuff. TND it is.
