OT: Veterans of the CR board, circa 2004-2006.

I've basically avoided all of mainstream franchise forums on IMDb, including comic book films, Twilight, Star Wars, etc. I basically joined IMDb when Bond 21 was going into production and remember CR as being the most troll infested and active board I've ever been on (well, Film General and Politics gets bad as well but I could weather those much easier). With the forums being shut down soon, any old school posters want to share fond memories of the old place?

Obviously there's the joke of net_geek and the insanity of the user known as The Young Lion. Also can't remember if the "Austin Martin" nut was there or elsewhere.

At the time the focus was the board for the upcoming film--there was no James Bond Board (and I was originally against that idea, as if it mattered; and I was wrong about that, anyway). I really enjoyed that excitement and build-up, even if it meant mischief-makers would gather and eventually outright trollery would take over during the actual film release. All part of the process.

In those days Strelnikoff made lengthy arguments denouncing ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, sparking epic exchanges. The moved on.

The song thread was a staple for a long time, then literally vanished.

There were some board memes like the misuse of the term "secular". Some back and forth about the Film General Board, challenges about who knew what when and what commanded respect. Some bluster and noise.

I'm motivated by my Duty.

I am still here - Net Geek! Been around since 2004!  Not sure I'll still be here on Feb 21. Ha ha.

I thought you had been around for Die Another Day's release. It's hard to believe how much of a blur that era was on IMDb.

I think the best part of the "Bond 21" board was the speculation of actors for James Bond.
