Dear Evan Hansen

Has anyone here seen it and can tell me more about it from their viewpoint? I've read good reviews and seen folks raving about it on social media but wanted to hear from you guys here. Tickets for the B'way transfer recently went on sale and it's on my shortlist of productions to potentially see when I am back in NYC next spring.

I've never heard of it. I must Google it and find out more about it.

According to the official website, the synopsis reads "All his life Evan Hansen has felt invisible. To his peers, to the girl he loves, sometimes even to his own mother. But that was before he wrote the letter – that led to the incident – that started the lie – that ignited a movement – that inspired a community – and changed Evan's status from the ultimate outsider into the somebody everyone wants to know. But how long can Evan keep his secret? And at what price?"

This sounds REALLY, REALLY good!

Yeah, I've been doing some reading up on it and the plot synopsis sounds really interesting and original, and all the buzz I've heard about the Off-B'way production has been very good.

I watched some more vids about it and checked out some video blogger reviews and started to get choked up a little hearing about it and decided I absolutely have to see it. So.....I just got off the Telecharge site where I bought my ticket for next March!

Now I eagerly await sales for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to begin. It starts previews just a few days before I arrive. :-D

Yippie! March is not too far off. 

Does Charlie have songs from the original movie? I wasn't crazy about the remake.

The London production only features "Pure Imagination" from the original score. An article I read a while back on Playbill said something about them reworking the London production to make it more like the original Willy Wonka movie that us Americans are more familiar with so I am thinking it might incorporate more of those songs. I got the London cast recording and Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman's original songs are all pretty catching and the preview vids of the sets and production itself look really fantastic. It got very mixed reviews though, but I am down for taking the chance (esp. since they said the B'way production is being reworked).
