Average Rotten Tomatoes score per year.

Seen this on linked from Twitter. Not sure of it's accuracy, but it does feel true.

It does seem like every other film these days get's universal acclaim and glowing reviews. With the inflation meaning that big franchises like Marvel getting 60/70-somethings from RT being considered disappointing and worrying.

Another factor is, from my perspective, the sheer volume of critics these days and the ease to become a 'verified' one. Any dork who runs a blog or youtube channel is a 'critic'. Back in the days it was more of a serious journalistic venture from what I gather.

Not that I care much for film critics. I just thought I'd share this graph.

This is like inflation.

Films of yesteryear need to be adjusted to be compared to current standards.

Film critcism is a joke.
