Question about The Huntsman: Winter's War?

I'm kind of interested in seeing it, but I really don't want to watch that terrible Kristen Stewart Snow White. Do you think I could watch the sequel only without being incredibly confused?
And don't worry about spoilers for the first one, I don't ever plan to watch it. Thanks in advance for help!

reply

I don't think she was in the sequel.

reply

So you think it'd be ok?

reply

Sure, give it a watch, but opinions on what is good or bad are always subjective but I'm pretty sure that she wasn't even in the sequel.

reply

Cool, thanks for the advice

I watched Winter's War without seeing Snow White and the Huntsman. Definitely worth it! Only mildly confusing in some parts, but I certainly enjoyed it. I also watched with someone who had seen Snow White, so they were able to fill in the few tiny gaps.

OP, you can watch this without having seen the first film, and follow and enjoy it.

Leia, my friend, have you watched Into The Woods? I like it very much, and, from what little I know of you, I think you might as well. It's wonderful Stephen Sondheim musical that Disney made into a movie, and it melds together several Grimm fairy tales. Please let me know what you think.

reply

I have seen it, and honestly had mixed opinions about it. Some of it was amazing, but other parts were laughably bad (such as "Agony" and The Big Bad Wolf). Overall, I did like it, and would probably watch it again if given the chance. My family didn't know what they were getting into when they put it in, though: all the singing and the darker takes on some of the fairytales certainly surprised them!

reply

Yes, the "Agony" piece is agonizing. To me, the scene comes across as two stereotypically very gay men singing to each other.

reply

Ahahaha. Except I'm pretty sure they're brothers. I don't think we need gay incest. 😂

reply

better than the first

reply

Thanks guys, I think I will watch it.
